What Would Glenn Beck Do

If you're new here, read more about the More Good Foundation. We help members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the Mormon church) share their beliefs on the Internet. Learn more about what Mormons believe or talk with Mormons at LDS.net.

Glenn Beck is the 3rd most listened-to talk show host in the U.S., has a new TV show on CNN, and is also a Mormon. In the following video he talks about how the friendship and example of Mormon friends helped him decide to convert, what honoring the Sabbath means to him, and how he loves his wife. We need more videos like this.

It would be great to hear from Steve Young, Gladys Knight, and other famous mormons. Donny Osmond has several Gospel presentations.

But you don’t have to be famous to share the Gospel online. If you’d be okay with sharing your thoughts about the Church for a few minutes through video, please contact us.

I really enjoy the Glenn Beck show. I think the church can always use more people that are strong and smart enough to defend their faith.

I don’t know much about Glenn Beck but my sister put this up on her blog yesterday and my wife and I were impressed with what he says about his experiences with the church.

I agree with the basic premise of both Glenn Beck and also this website.

We should have better collaboration of LDS webmasters to freely cross-promote good LDS theme websites inorder to offset the google bombing by anti-mormon forces that keep corrupting the search engine results.

My LDS travel guide has links to over 100 LDS themed websites online at http://www.maintour.com/spt/mormon.htm

I challenge other LDS webmasters to either copy or promote a similar list of quality LDS theme web content.

As great as I think it is that this guy is Mormon, I am pretty embarrassed to be caucasian/Mormon/Christian after the way he, albeit ignorantly, insulted Rep. Keith Ellison in a recent TV Interview.

This kind of attitude toward anyone is pretty shameful, in my opinion.

Actually, a friend who is not LDS recommended that I listen to the audio tape of Beck’s book and I ended up having to spend over an hour correcting him about what was Mormonism and what was Beck’s opinion. In my opinion, he does the church no service speaking about his conversion. Football players and famous singer don’t make a living off of politically charged diatribes. Beck does. My daughter, who was unaware of his membership, came home from college telling us about this new guy on CNN who shocked her with his disregard for basic tenants of Christianity. It was Glenn Beck.

[...] I enjoy listening to the Glenn Beck radio talk show on the way home from work each day (570 on the AM radio in the Salt Lake area). It’s the third most listened to talk show in the country. Glenn doesn’t hesitate to mention he is a Mormon when the subject is relative. Watch an 8:44 min. video of Glenn Beck talking about his religion, family, God, and wife. [...]

I was impressed by his sincerity. I am also aware of, and we all should be, the fact that he is just a man who is imperfect and sometimes says and does things imperfectly. I do not think this changes his ability to be sincere about his feelings for the Savior. I think we should all remember we are spending our time on this earth trying to become better. He may have a long way to go, but at least he is on the right path.

Kudos to Orson Scott Card as well. He has agreed to “debate” on beliefnet where he is professionally outmatched. He’s definitely speaking up.
