Dave Neeleman, Mormon entrepreneur, former CEO of JetBlue Airways and founder of Brazilian domestic airline, Azul (means “blue” in Portuguese), was interviewed on Brazilian television recently. Dave is forthright in sharing his Mormon beliefs–there’s no bushel hiding anything there. As avid member missionary, and forward-thinker, David has made a lasting impact in business, through a kind of leadership that empowers others and that reflects his spiritual Mormon foundation. He’s been influential in steering members to share their faith online, long before Mormons had a serious presence on the Internet.
Mr. Neeleman was born in Brazil. His father was a journalist stationed there for United Press International. As a Mormon, Mr. Neeleman returned to Brazil to serve for 2 years as a Mormon missionary, emissary for the Lord Jesus Christ, when he was 19. Dave splits his time between Brazil and the United States, and lives with his wife, Vicki, in New Canaan, Connecticut.
